COVERED YARD

This space was created by spanning polycarbonate roofing from the main building onto the boundary walls of its garden in two separate roofs. This is an adaptive use of conservatory roofing technology which is a cost effective option at a fraction of the price of a traditional roof. As the entire structure is composed of aluminium, stainless steel, UPVC and polycarbonate, it is weather proof and maintenance free.

The result is a covered work and storage space of some 65 square metres which is bathed in natural light, and naturally benefits the heat of the sun because of the southerly aspect, all for the cost of a medium sized conservatory. A possible option for any property with an adjacent yard area, this is a great way to increase your indoor space at minimal cost and, provided the original exterior doors and windows remain in place, usually with minimal involvement of the planning authority.
